I am always interested by people who complain about the popularity of specific technologies, sites, etc.
Hype is what generates a buzz and gets people interested in something enough to adopt it. It is what moves things forward, or of course could ultimately kill something off.
Hype is healthy, though sometimes annoying.
Do people not understand this, or do they? And that is why they speak out against it to create their own buzz?

Hype can certainly get old. I don’t know about you, but I’m *really* tired of hearing about MySpace and Second Life. Wiki hype is a different matter, as it’s more about what the technology can do for you and your organization. Fad hype is much more self serving.
