Goodbye, Atlassian OnDemand. Hello, Atlassian Cloud!

Back in July we rebranded our deployment options to Cloud and Server but our hosted service for cloud products, Atlassian OnDemand, remained on the old naming convention. Today, we begin the next phase of this rollout by introducing Atlassian Cloud. You’ll begin to see references to OnDemand being swapped out with Atlassian Cloud over the coming weeks and months.

Atlassian Cloud

The Atlassian Cloud delivers your favorite Atlassian products in the cloud. We believe the Atlassian Cloud provides the easiest way for teams to realize the benefits of Atlassian. This is why we are constantly investing in our cloud-based products – including JIRA, Confluence, HipChat, Bitbucket, and Bamboo – and services to bring improvements in areas such as user management, account management, and identity management. We’ll continue to invest in speed and reliability, while delivering a consistent user experience and sign in across our products in the cloud. This is just the beginning of what’s to come.

Existing Atlassian OnDemand customer?

Keep calm, and code on. Continue to use your cloud applications as you do today–we’re just making the larger service that delivers these products better. And we’re retiring the name OnDemand. This means that you’ll no longer see “OnDemand” on our website (www.atlassian.com), in documentation (confluence.atlassian.com), when you file support tickets at support.atlassian.com, upon purchasing and product sign-in, or any other location. If you watched any pages in the Atlassian OnDemand documentation space, you will need to go the new Cloud space and click the Watch button to continue to receive notifications about page updates.

As I mentioned earlier, Atlassian is dedicated to improving and simplifying the experience across our cloud products and this is just the beginning. More exciting updates to come over the next few months!

Your site is down and *surprise!* no one man’s the Twitter feed. So annoying. It’s nice to work when you want to, not when your servers decide to work. Your cloud presence isn’t working … soooooooo annoying.

  He you’re site seems to be down at x.com , is there a place I can go to check up/down time or is this possibly my issue?
  
  If you’re upset with them just leave there’s plenty of us that are pretty happy with Atlassian.

Yeah, not sure what’s going on, but none of our 10 licensed staff are able to access our Confluence pages. My log-in doesn’t appear to be working. I’ve checked my inbox and don’t see any notices from Atlassian regarding changes to our service, billing issues or anything of that nature.

Even trying to generate a help ticket resulted in a page error. Bad form, guys.

There are a ton of useful JQL plugins available for local instances but not for cloud. How come there is such a huge lag on add-ons being available for the cloud solution?

  The # of cloud add-ons continues to grow. We expect more JQL add-ons in the future, since the JIRA REST API supports JQL. If you are interested in building a cloud JQL add-on checkout developer.atlassian.com.

Am i not able to customize the dashboard on cloud? I would like it to look like zen or refinedwiki.(I can change color etc etc. But cant make drop down’s in menu and so on) -Cant seem to find any addons or guides on this subject.

  You can customize your Confluence dashboard in Cloud, however, Zen and RefinedWiki are only compatible with Confluence Server at this time.

Aileen, here in Germany we have laws that forbid personal data to be stored in external servers. It is often a prime requirement that the server belongs to the owner of the data. For most businesses here, Cloud is not an option.

Hi Aileen,

Any chance of getting a single user account for different Atlassian Cloud products (Jira, HipChat, BitBucket etc)? Managing different user accounts for all these systems is getting more and more complex and time consuming.

Ideal situation for us would be one Azure AD ID and one Atlassian Cloud ID for each employee, or even better one Azure AD ID which integrates across all Atlassian Cloud products

- Hi Timo, thanks for the question. Offering a single account for Atlassian cloud products and services is something we plan to offer but I can’t speak to a timeline. My recommendation would be to submit a feature request (or vote for an existing one) at https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/CLOUD so that you can follow any progress on it.

- Hi John, I don’t have a timeline for 2FA but know that it’s something we’d like to offer for our cloud products. I’d recommend submitting a feature request for this on https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/CLOUD so that you can follow progress around it.

Atlassian cloud just does not work. I gave feedback on the webpage. Try to register for the trail but it does not. Alas, we were thinking of buying it for our team but it is not sending any mail regarding the next steps. How can one expect such non-responsiveness in the cloud site? Is this really working? My colleagues have already started exploring other softwares for agile management.
