We’re excited to announce that SAML 2.0 support is now available out of the box with Hipchat Server 2.2, giving teams a more secure and painless way to sign in. We want to make the lives of both admins and users easier, especially when it comes to accessing Hipchat Server.

Simple and secure

SAML 2.0 simplifies user management for admins and users alike. You can save time, ensure data consistency, and gain greater visibility by shifting identity management from Hipchat Server to your identity provider, where you already manage your users and the applications they can access. The just-in-time provisioning in Hipchat Server makes it easy to add new users once they are provisioned in the IdP, saving you even more time!

You can also leverage SAML 2.0 support for Hipchat Server to meet IT compliance needs, reduce password proliferation, and control application access. Better still, if you have MFA enabled in your IdP, you can add an additional layer of security to Hipchat Server.

Enabling SAML 2.0 only takes a few minutes and it provides your team a safe and easy way to access Hipchat Server. They won’t need to remember another username and password, and will no longer be pained with submitting multiple password reset requests.

Get started now

Upgrade now to Hipchat Server 2.2 to get the benefits of SAML either using Okta, OneLogin, or a custom SAML implementation. As you adopt SAML, you can also make it optional so that your users can use either single sign-on (SSO) or their login credentials during the transition period.
