Guest blogging this week for ZDNet Web 2.0 Explorer
Stewart Mader, Wiki Evangelist talks about buzzMarch 14, 2007
I’m guest blogging for Web 2.0 Explorer, Alan Graham’s ZDNet blog. So far, I've written about the growing use of wikis in education in Davids versus Goliath: a comparison of wikis versus Blackboard CMS. From the post: “The fundamental difference between the two is this: Blackboard is something designed to do everything, and the wiki is something that can do everything because of its design.”
Also, I had a conversation with Doug Belshaw, a teacher of History and ICT at a successful comprehensive school in Doncaster, England, about his use of blogging and wikis with his Year 10 students.
Today's post is about Nicola Pratt, a lecturer at the University of East Anglia who is studying Wikipedia's educational value by having her postgraduate students edit articles related to class discussions, and write new articles. Her study intends to look at Wikipedia's role in developing students' critical thinking, research and writing skills. Head on over to Web 2.0 Explorer to read the full posts!

Consider using Drupal instead of wordpress. Wordpress is great blog tool, but if you want to build a brand you cannot using just a blog. You will need fully integrated site with blog, forum, wiki, poll, survey, forms, ecommerce, etc. This is where Drupal excels.
