A self-proclaimed “JIRA obsessive at times, Marc Palmer shares helpful tips on how to use JIRA effectively:
TIP #1. When creating a new issue, think about the people interested in the issue…It must be unambiguous, clear and concise.TIP #2. Raise high-level requirements as issues, and use sub-tasks to structure the action required…Everybody can then see the status of the high level task in terms of its underlying tasks.
There's a lot more in this post on JIRA pointers. Thanks for the tips!

Cool; I used to hang out with Marc years ago when I was in the UK. Great guy, and very smart.

Do you have a best practice guide of how to use jira in this great new highly regulated SOX, enabled world.

Simon,
If you send an email to 'sales@atlassian.com' with full details of what you are trying to achieve, then someone will get back to you shortly.
Cheers,
Scott
