Announcing Atlassian Summit 2010

Thumbnail image for summit_logo_forblog.pngI am so excited to announce the second annual Atlassian Summit 2010! From June 9-11 at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco, hundreds of customers, speakers, partners and Atlassians will get together for the biggest Atlassian event ever! We're upping the ante this year, with two keynotes, a launchpad competition, product announcements that will keep you on the edge of your seats and, of course, a pull-out-the-stops Atlassian-style party!

The deets:

  • Register: Early bird registration price is $649 through April 15, 2010 - $200 dollars off the regular price... so don't wait! Optional training courses in JIRA, Confluence and plugin development are also available for an additional cost.
  • My Summit: once you register, you'll be invited to the My Summit site, where you can build out your profile, meet and mingle with other attendees, and eventually build and manage your agenda at the event. It's a pretty sweet interactive event application, complete with a smartphone UI and iPhone app, and it will make scheduling and keeping track of people you meet a piece of cake!
  • Become a Speaker: Call for speakers is open through March 1, 2010. If you've got a great story, send it our way. Speakers get a free pass to Summit.
  • Become a Sponsor: There are still a few sponsorship opportunities available for Summit 2010. If you want to stand out with Atlassian customers, this is a great way, and we've added even more mingle time and a new "Launchpad" competition.

Can't wait to see you all in the city of fog! (Although when the Aussies come to San Francisco, it tends to be warmer.) And a big shout out to the sponsors who signed up early to support Summit!

Meet the sponsors:

Platinum CustomWare
Gold Appfire Contegix WANdisco
Silver ComalaTech Gliffy TM Software
Bronze Balsamiq Catch Limited Valiantys

Atlassian User Group Update

Jessie Curtner December 19, 2009 7:46 AM

In August we announced that we are turning our User Group program over to the community. Our goal was to build a community of users that would meet regularly (at least 4 times a year), in every neck of the woods. We help out by offering some great organizer benefits and promotional assistance.

How did it go?

Today, there are Atlassian user groups being run in 10 cities across the globe. Groups large and small have met to discuss specific products, specific verticals, or hold an open forum for everyone. The one thing that all of these groups have in common is that customers are loving them! We've gotten a great response to this program. Our surveys are coming back with rave reviews, and I've received many emails from excited attendees and organizers.

Where do we go from here?

We're happy that the Atlassian user groups are taking off, and we're cooking up ideas on how to make them even better.

  • For starters...

  • The User Group space we host on Confluence is in desperate need of a redesign.

  • We are working on a way to get organizers from different cities to collaborate and share ideas with each other.

  • We're going to try to send more Atlassians to meet-ups

We will continuously improve the program to ensure every organizer has the power to make their group unique and get the support they need from us to make it a success!

If you have ideas or feedback I would love to here them.

Atlassian Summit 2010: Call for Speakers

Jessie Curtner talks about summit December 16, 2009 1:06 AM

Got an awesome story, case study, or customization you want to share with Atlassian customers at Atlassian Summit 2010? Now's the time to let us know. We will officially launch the Summit 2010 website in January but we wanted to open the call for speakers today! and, if your idea is chosen, you'll get a free pass to the conference.

I live in a cave... so what is Summit?

Summit 2010 is our second annual global user conference. Last year there were 350 attendees from 19 countries. With the momentum we had from last year's event, we expect 2010 to be even bigger. This year's conference will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco, June 9-11.

Speaking at Summit is a great opportunity to:

  • Share interesting use cases with hundreds of peers
  • Network with the Atlassian community
  • Connect with Atlassian's product marketing managers, who will help you awesome-mize your preso
  • Have something to brag about at your next Toastmasters meeting

Fill out this simple form between now and March 1st and tell us a little bit about your Atlassian Story. We can't wait to hear it!

The next few weeks are packed with Atlassian events, so if you've been thinking about getting out of the office and want to network with some Atlassians, now is the time!

This week we kick off our developers-only user conference, AtlasCamp, in Half Moon Bay. With close to one hundred of the best plug-in developers in our community and beautiful views of the northern California coastline, this event is going to be a great time.

If you can't spare three days out of the office, stop by our office tomorrow night. We're introducing JIRA 4.0 to the SF Bay Area at the JIRA 4.0 Social. Both of our CEO's will be on hand and we'll be showing off the sweetest new features. After the presentations we'll toast JIRA 4.0 with a cocktail hour. Stop by if you're in the area!

As if we didn't already have a full week, we'll also have a booth at the ZendCon PHP conference in San Jose. This is our first time as a sponsor at the largest event for the PHP community. Stop by and say "Hi" if you're planning on attending. We'll be at booth 220.

After all these events, you might think we would take a break. Nope! November kicks off a whirlwind tour of back-to-back conferences. We'll start off at Enterprise 2.0 in San Francisco. This is the first year E2.0 has visited the Bay Area and we're excited to be a part of it. The following week we'll be in Denver for Defrag. If you haven't heard of Defrag, it is the first conference focused solely on the tools and technologies that are leveraging the social aspect of software.

After that, we're off to Belgium to be apart of the largest European Java developers conference DeVoxx. At the same time we'll be in Amsterdam at Accenture's Open Source Conference. This one-day event will be focused on the latest developments and practical applications for open source software. The following week, we'll be traveling east for the Java Edge conference taking place in Israel. The focus of Java Edge is the future of Java technologies. Last but not least, we'll head back to San Francisco to sponsor QCon SF a software development conference designed for team leads, architects and project management.

If you can't find us over the next 6 weeks, you're not looking hard enough! Hopefully we'll see you at one, or more, of these events.
