WebWork 2 is awesome. MVC is over. We win ;)
OK - it's not over, it's not even a competition so we can't 'win' - but I just have to say to everyone that Webwork 2 and I can say it's really coming along!
What's new? How about ...
- inversion of control - this is really funky stuff and will change the way you think about web applications forever!
- AOP-like interceptors for all actions
- fully decoupled validators
- packaging of actions, components and views
- flexible view types
- built on XWork - a truly generic command pattern framework
- a faster, compiled expression language in OGNL
- a bunch of prebuilt interceptors and result types that ship with the framework
- and a "nifty 2 at the end"!
All the things you ever wanted in an MVC framework but were afraid to ask for!
Huge kudos to Patrick and Jason who have driven the development effort so far, and to everyone else who has helped out and especially written documentation. I think it has already got more docs than WebWork 1.x!
