JBoss Group Forks
Well, the cat is already out of the bag so I guess I can talk about it now. Some of the core developers from JBoss have 'forked' their business to start a new company called Core Developers. (Also see Kev's blog post for more details)
I think this is good news - hopefully it will mean better services for those that contract both the JBoss Group and the Core Developers Network. I know James Strachan and have met Greg Wilkins - both are very smart guys so it's good to see they have talent. It's also good to see a couple of Aussies in a small company with big goals!
I wonder how this will make working on JBoss' code though? Will the anger / rivalries spill over into CVS? Could the JBoss group revoke the commit permissions of the Core Developers guys? (It would be petty but could cause much angst)
Anyway - we shall see, it will be exciting to watch how this plays out.
