Atlassian User Groups - London, Frankfurt, Antwerp / 2006 Nov 15

Following on from the success of our Virginia user group earlier this year, we've have two more scheduled for Europe in December!

What happens at a user group?

We're still evolving them, but first and foremost it's a chance for Atlassian customers to meet each other and exchange ideas. I missed our first in Virginia last September - unfortunately you can't be everywhere on this little marble - but Scott was there and he still raves about the customer connections he witnessed.

Beyond that, there will be a few short presentations (don't worry - it's not a slide night, very informal) about upcoming releases (JIRA 3.7 and Confluence 2.3 - both huge releases), demos of Bamboo, Crowd and some of the cooler new plugins.

For visuals, you can see the presentations and photos from the last event online.

Oh, and because of a rare freak of timing, the planets are aligned that week so both Scott and I will be at all the meetings. That's right, you get to meet us both - quel horreur - come along! :)

(Trust me, we're rarely in the same city for long together anymore so hanging out in Europe for a week chatting to customers sounds like fun to me!)

I believe most likely Dave Loeng and Matt Ryall (both from the Confluence team) will be at both too, so you get to meet a little more of the team.

As Jonathan said in his post to our Developer Blog:

Just like last time, these meetups are open to anyone interested in Atlassian and our products: developers, customers, or potential customers!

Event Locations

For the concrete dates, see:

  • London, UK - User Group - December 12th (kindly sponsored by our partner Headshift)
  • Frankfurt, Germany - User Group - December 18th (kindly sponsored by our sponsor Pix Software) - 5 people signed up today, including a special guest in Jens Schumacher (another Confluence developer) who will be in Germany anyway visiting his family for Christmas.
  • Antwerp, Belgium - Meetup - Less formal than the other two, this is really just an excuse to drink spectacular Belgium beer with customers at Javapolis, the fav Atlassian Java conference of the year!

Comments

Mike,
Isn't Karlsruhe the city to go to, if you live in germany? It's just about 140km difference, so no big deal for an aussie, I guess ;) . But as I'm planning to be there, it seems like an important info...

Cheers,
Phil
