How you know you hired the right guy... / 2006 Nov 09

... when he blogs, spends his last day at his old job getting feedback on what he should do at his new one - oh and take home a bottle of scotch.

This is definitely the best ever post by someone about to join our company.

Brilliantly thoughtful.

Some good advice for everyone here:

I liked that because while I’ve always viewed my tendency towards autonomy as a good thing - I will often put my head down and crank on a project for days at a time, it’s true that I haven’t necessarily always been the most transparent about the status and eta of a project. One thing I will strive to do at my new job is quickly and clearly identify the expectations, milestones, deliverables and deadlines of my projects. Luckily, Atlassian makes a product that is perfect for that - Confluence.

Michael - welcome on board!

(PS We're always hiring smart people - see what we're after!)
