Startup Growth In Pictures / 2006 Nov 16

So as I've mentioned here before, the Melbourne Cup is a big event for Atlassian (in Sydney but more and more across the company).

We generally take the whole afternoon off, go to a nice restaurant, watch the race, eat, drink and be merry.

The event also serves as an interesting barometer of growth, as this little sequence of photos of the day in the Sydney office shows!

Note - suits and ties are strictly for Melbourne Cup only, one should dress up nicely for the races. This is the smartest the office looks all year!

2004

One table at Otto's, 12 people attended in Sydney.

2005

Two tables at Otto's (photo in the office beforehand), 22 people attended in Sydney.

2006

Somewhere in Manly (I wasn't there sadly, but we had our own bash in the SF office), 39 people attended in Sydney.

I think there are photos of this year's inaugural San Franciscan Melbourne Cup bash somewhere (including the post-game midnight AFL kickaround across 2nd St to the amusement of the cops), but I'm not sure who took them. Just as sadly the photos of the 2003 mini-bash at the Civic are also lost in the sands of time - no one can recall who had the camera that day.

Like a Wild West Sheriff - I find 'em, I'll post 'em.

Napster! A green striped tie! What a faux-pas!
