Five things you may not know about me...
OK, so Bob dropped me in it with the latest craze, but I might as well play ball.
- In the last 27 years, I've broken 10 bones. That's roughly one every 2.7 years - but really most of them are clustered in the 14-18 range. You might say I was reckless, but I prefer to use the words "adventurously over-explorative".
- I have 3 passports, I've lived in 5 countries including both coasts of the USA. I love to travel the world, but Sydney is still the best place on earth (and home).
- If I wasn't an entrepreneur or into technology, I would most probably have been an architect. I've always loved architecture since I was a kid and am particularly into modern styles (but not cold or austere). In my recent Europe trip we saw plenty of fabulous examples (who knew Germans architecture was so spectacular?), but my favourite was Miss Sophie's a hostel we stayed at in Prague.
- My close friends know I'm terribly bad at selling things, they just seem to 'hang around' after I've lost use of them. I'm a poor eBayer, have plenty of old tech gadgets and even a car in my garage that I've been trying to sell for 8 months.
- I've always believed systems that align motivations will triumph, rather than hand outs. This is one of the reasons I'm so bullish about the ability of the Internet to finally realise the promise of microfinance through sites like "Kiva" (my portfolio of loans).
Well, I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse - Charles, Marty, Nik, Graham and Niki, you're tagged.
