Codegeist II - The Ghost Is Back / 2007 Apr 24

For those that don't remember, Codegeist is Atlassian's annual coding competition.

Last year we had over 30 entries (some of which have become integral plugins for our users) and a killer t-shirt, which has become so legendary even my coffee guy asked if he could get one.

(OK, so he has no idea what Codegeist is or what we do, but he thought the t-shirt was funny)

This year, we're upping the ante.

  • Cash prizes have doubled to over $USD 20k.
  • Our mates at JetBrains (simply the best IDE in the world), YourKit (profiling choice of Atlassian engineering boffins), Cenqua (code insight par excellence) and The ServerSide (best damn Java conference of the year) have all come to the table with some killer prizes
  • The t-shirt is back - bigger, better and funnier - for all entrants. As always the design is a secret until the contest is over, but in line with all our new t-shirts you won't be disappointed.

You'll find all the details on the Codegeist space on confluence.atlassian.com. And stay tuned to the Atlassian Developer Blog for updates.

If you're a developer, or you know any developers, this is a great opportunity to win some great prizes. We had some great entries last year, and it was fun handing out the prizes to some smart and deserving teams. I'm looking forward to seeing what we get this year.

For your hiring page you should put up a museum of Atlassian tshirts from the old school ones to the new ones.
