Crowd Connects Web Apps, LDAP

Crowd 1.0, our single sign-on authentication software, was launched today. The full press release is here. For this release, I decided to do a short interview with Justen Stepka, the lead developer of Crowd. (I had wanted to publish the interview as an MP3 audio file, but my first podcast contained way too much background static, so I've transcribed the interview here) What is Crowd and how will people use it? Crowd is all about making single sign-on and identity management easy. What we did is

Crowd(ed) Debate

Following the London Atlassian User Group there was a lot of online discussion about Crowd. In The Wisdom of Crowd? (and at the user group), Miles Metcalfe asked whether Crowd would have Shibboleth. UK institutions will be pushed to Shibboleth once their current access management service, Athens, becomes chargeable. The meeting was held Tuesday evening at a lovely hotel in Falls Church VA. About 50 users attended, from all around the D.C. area. We also were lucky to meet a few of our partners from the area, including the folks from our sponsor, IntelliObjects. We had three

Finding a good single sign-on solution has been a goal for many organisations looking to simplify user management. Tomorrow on the business wires we'll be officially announcing the acquisition of Minneapolis-based Authentisoft, a company that creates IDX, a single sign-on Java EE solution. Over the next few months, we'll be working on the application to make it more Atlassian-like, however today IDX is fully-functional and works natively with JIRA and Confluence. We're even happier to announce that
